Refunds

Refund and cancellation policy

How cancelling and refunds work for paid plans and ads.

Last updated November 5, 2026

Alaska Towns is run by Honor Coding LLC dba Alaska Towns (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how cancelling and refunds work for paid listing plans (Featured and Premium) and ads. It is part of our Terms of service.

The short version

  • Free listings are free. There is nothing to cancel.
  • You can cancel a paid plan any time from your account. It stays active until the end of the time you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
  • New yearly plans can be refunded in full within 14 days. Forgot to cancel a yearly renewal? Ask within 14 days and we’ll refund it.
  • Monthly plans aren’t refunded for part of a month.
  • If we don’t approve your listing, or we take down your ad, you get your money back.

Paid plans

Cancelling

Sign in to your account and choose Cancel plan, or email us. Your plan keeps running until the end of the month or year you’ve paid for. After that your listing goes back to Free, and you won’t be charged again. Your Featured or Premium details are kept, so they come back if you upgrade again later.

Monthly plans

Monthly plans renew every month until you cancel. We don’t refund part of a month. If your business is seasonal, you can pause a monthly plan for the off-season instead of cancelling, and it starts again in the month you choose.

Yearly plans

  • New yearly plans: if you change your mind within 14 days of your first payment, we’ll refund it in full.
  • After 14 days: you can still cancel, and your plan runs to the end of the year you’ve paid for. We don’t refund the unused months.
  • Renewals: yearly plans renew automatically, and we email you a reminder before they do. If a yearly plan renews and you meant to cancel, tell us within 14 days of the renewal charge and we’ll refund it in full.

If we don’t approve your listing

If you pay when you sign up and we don’t approve the listing, we refund the payment in full.

Changing plans

If you move from Featured to Premium, or from monthly to yearly, your new plan starts right away and the old one stops. We refund the unused part of the old plan, or credit it toward the new one.

Discounts and introductory offers

Refunds are for the amount you actually paid, after any discount. An introductory offer, like half off the first year, applies once per business. If a discounted plan is refunded and you sign up again later, the regular price applies.

Plans paid by check

Plans paid by check run for one year and don’t renew automatically. The same 14-day rule applies to a new plan, and refunds are paid by check.

Ads

  • Ads are paid up front for the dates you book.
  • Before your ad starts: cancel and we’ll refund it in full.
  • After it starts: it runs to the end of what you booked. We don’t refund part of a run.
  • If we take an ad down because it breaks our ad rules, or we can’t show it for reasons on our side, we refund the part that hasn’t run yet.

If we remove a listing

If we remove a paid listing because it breaks our Terms of service, we may refund the unused part of the plan. We don’t refund plans removed for fraud, false information or content you didn’t have the right to use.

How refunds are paid

Card refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They usually arrive in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. Plans paid by check are refunded by check.

If something went wrong that this policy doesn’t cover, contact us anyway. We look at every request and may give a full or partial refund when it’s fair. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Most problems are faster to fix directly.
